Geltow & surroundings
In Geltow, part of the municipality of Schwielowsee, you can sense the village's 1,000-year history – Geltow and Potsdam were mentioned in the same historical deed. Sanssouci Park and the Wildpark, once the scene of royal hunts, are close by. Geltow was home to the royal tree nursery that supplied the parks in and around Potsdam.
It is no coincidence that the Brothers Grimm wrote some of their fairy tales right here.
All kinds of water sports are on offer nearby: lakes with natural bathing spots and beaches, where Einstein once practised the art of doing nothing on his sailing boat. His summer house in the neighbouring village is one of many sights in the area.
In less than an hour you are in the heart of Berlin, experiencing the unique history, flair and culture of the German capital.
The apartment was ideal for a few days of complete relaxation. The kitchen is perfectly equipped and there was really nothing missing. With supermarkets close by, we hardly had to leave and could enjoy the sauna and whirlpool to the full. Highly recommended for anyone looking to unwind!
Hanna1 year on AirbnbIt was a fantastic stay – almost even nicer than in the photos. Perfect, high-quality furnishings and always worth a visit. We would book the apartment again at any time. If you are looking for something special, this is the place. Thank you for a wonderful time!
Bine9 years on AirbnbWe had a few lovely and relaxing days! The apartment is well thought out and cosily furnished and we had everything we needed. By bike it is 5 minutes to the nearest lake and by bus you are quickly in Potsdam. We especially loved the terrace and the great kitchen equipment. Thanks to our hosts!
Rebekka13 years on AirbnbEach apartment has a private, camera-monitored parking space on the property in front of the house. Two supermarkets are close by – a Netto and a REWE, which is open Monday to Saturday from 7 am to 10 pm. And so you don't have to go without fresh rolls on Sunday: the bakery in the REWE is also open on Sunday mornings.
By bike – we provide our bicycles free of charge – you reach Lake Petzin and Lake Schwielow in less than 5 minutes. We are happy to show you the best spots for swimming or renting a boat, whether you want to paddle or explore by raft or motorboat. Booking ahead is recommended.
A few days before you arrive, and once you have given us your email address during online check-in, you will receive an email with a link to your personal digital guest folder. It contains all the important information about your apartment and the area so that you can plan your stay.
On the day of arrival you can enter your apartment from 3 pm. Shortly before arrival you receive an electronic key code that lets you in independently at any time – so a late arrival is no problem. On the day of departure we ask you to leave by 11 am so that we can prepare the freshly cleaned apartment for our next guests in time.
